Carolanne Patterson is a multi-media artist living in New Haven, CT, USA. She exhibits her work in the US and Internationally, most recently in Washington, DC and Tbilisi, Georgia. She is also an educator and has held faculty positions at several universities including Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Rhode Island School of Design, and New York University. She is the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to Prague, Czech Republic and has participated in artist residency programs or has been a guest artist in the US and abroad including CECArts Link, NYU, Ucross Foundation, Fine Arts Academy, Munich, The Hermit Foundation, CZ, and the Penland and Haystack schools. She is the recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts grant (drawing) and a National Endowment for the Arts grant (sculpture). She teaches metal-smithing and design and technology courses, using skills associated with these techniques in her studio work. She has a primary focus on light in all forms and descriptions.
